The Housewife

This series of images intended to explore the experience of domesticity through the themes of love, routine, rupture and acceptance. Through the employment of props and lighting, I explored a more cinematic feel to my portrait photography. Through this work, I wanted my visual language to express an unease, yet quiet acceptance to the character's circumstances. The deliverables of this work was to express the experience of domesticity through the lens created by Jeanne Dielman's director of photography, Babette Mangolte. I wanted challenge myself and create a narrative through purely visual language.
